About

Elliot Anderson is a 17-year-old violinist and junior at Friends Select School in Philadelphia. He began studying violin at age five with Viktor Repik and now studies with Juliette Kang, First Associate Concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Ryan Meehan of the Calidore String Quartet.

A scholarship recipient at Settlement Music School since age nine, Elliot currently plays in the Edward L. & Gail W. Snitzer Advanced Study String Quartet. He also studies at Temple University’s Center for Gifted Young Musicians, where he has appeared as a soloist and section leader in the Youth Chamber Orchestra. His development has been shaped by programs including the Heifetz International Music Institute, Center Stage Strings, Festival Academy Budapest, ENCORE Chamber Music Institute, and the Bowdoin International Music Festival, and by masterclass instructions from renowned artists including Jinjoo Cho, Almita Vamos, Barnabas Kelemen, Boris Brovtsyn, Chee-Yun, Stella Chen, Elena Urioste and Fabiola Kim.

From 2023 to 2025, Elliot served as concertmaster of the Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra and won its Tenth Annual Solo Competition, leading to his 2024 debut at the Kimmel Center performing Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. He has also performed at Haverford College, the Curtis Institute of Music, the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, and Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavík.

His achievements include top honors in competitions such as the Warminster Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition, Harmony for Peace Music Competition, Irving Ludwig Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra Youth Concerto Competition, Bucks County Youth Concerto Competition, and the Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra Solo Competition. He is the 2026 recipient of the Bruce Montgomery Springboard grant and recently appeared as a soloist at Settlement Music School’s 118th Anniversary Gala.

Outside of music, Elliot enjoys exploring his interests in science and engineering, traveling, and spending time with family in Hungary. He also enjoys volunteering and sharing his love of music by performing at community and holiday events.
